Background To The Practice
Monkspath Surgery was founded by Dr Stan Darling in 1985 and the current surgery was built in 1987. The patient list size is approximately 12,000. The practice has taken on a significant role in medical student training since 1995.
Monkspath Surgery is one of the practices in the Solihull Clinical Commissioning Group.
Solihull Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has been authorised to lead the local NHS by Commissioning (buying and monitoring) high quality healthcare services for the people of Solihull.
The surgery will be closed from 1pm on Wednesday 7th February until 8am the next morning for a staff training event. If during this time you have a medical need please call 0300 555 9999 for our out of hours cover, 111 for advice or in the case of an emergency call 999.
Monkspath Surgery PPG (Patient Participation Group) will hold their next meeting at the surgery on Tuesday February 13th at 7pm. All patients are welcome. Dr Damien Williams will talk about the NHS IT plans for the future and Jean Thomas will bring us up to date on news of HEFT.
To help ease the winter pressures on the NHS the practice will be offering extra emergency "on the day appointments" on Monday afternoons until 29th March 2018. These appointments can be booked by calling 0121 711 1414 from 8am on these days
Violence And Aggression
The practice operates a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of verbal or physical aggression. Breaches of this policy will result in instant removal from the practice list.
Closed circuit television (CCTV) is installed at the practice premises for the purposes of staff, patient and premises security. Cameras are located at various places on the premises, and images from the cameras are recorded. The use of CCTV falls within the scope of the Data Protection Act 1998. Please also note that Telephone calls to and from the surgery may be monitired for safety and training reasons.
