Welcome to Monkspath Surgery Patient Participation Group section.
Our Patient Participation Group (PPG) was set up in early 2013 by a group of patients in order to strengthen communication between all patients and the Practice. The PPG meets every two months at the surgery. Each meeting starts at 7.00 pm and ends at around 8.30 pm, and usually includes an opportunity for patients to raise and discuss any matters they wish; one or two presentations on health topics; and an opportunity to question the presenters. The Practice Manager, Rachel Critcher, attends the meetings and if available one of the GP partners attends as well.
All our meetings are open to any patient of the Practice, and all levels of interest are welcome. You can contribute ideas, join in the discussions or simply come along as an interested observer. Numbers of patients attending range from 15 to 45, and you can join the PPG simply by coming to a meeting or complete the “keep me informed” slip and hand it into reception.
The links below give access to the PPG’s constitution, the minutes of every meeting, and copies of some of the presentations given.
Some members of our PPG are interested in related areas of health and social care so we are already represented at the relevant bodies, which as at January 2016 include Solihull Healthwatch, the Solihull PPGs Network, Solihull Partnership, the CCG’s Patient Voice Panel, the CCG’s Patient Reference Group on Urgent Care implementation, and the Area Prescribing Committee. As a result, we have regular updates from these bodies.
Solihull Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) supports and encourages the setting up of Patient Participation Groups and consults them on key issues of healthcare through meetings of the PPG Network. Three of our PPG members attend Network meetings and are active in promoting it as an independent voice and as representative of Solihull's PPGs as possible. The Network has so far only had two chairs, both of whom have been from our PPG.
Whatever your level of interest, be it regular active participation or simply wanting to be kept informed of the work of the PPG, please send contact details to us via the link below, or hand in contact details at the surgery's reception marked for the attention of the PPG.
If you have any comment or suggestions for or about the PPG please make them below. If you require a response, please remember to add your contact details. General comments about the Practice itself can be made elsewhere on this site.
